Tibet Airlines is the first Chinese airline to fly to Helsinki Airport. We collected interesting facts about the new route and airline.

1. The first Chinese company flying to Finland

Last year, over 830 000 passengers flew on routes between China and Finland. Yet, Tibet Airlines is the first Chinese airline to operate at Helsinki Airport. Another Chinese newcomer, Juneyao Airlines, is scheduled to start operations during the summer of 2019. Then, Helsinki Airport will have as much as 44 weekly connections to China, including direct routes to Beijing, Shanghai, Xi'an, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Nanjing and Hong Kong.

2. From Helsinki to Jinan, twice a week

Tibet Airlines' new route will connect Finns to a new Chinese city, Jinan, and enable new Chinese travelers to connect to Finland. Jinan has some 7 million inhabitants and is the capital of Shandong Province along the Yellow River in China. The new route will be the first direct connection between Finland and the Shandong province of over 100 million inhabitants.

The flight route started operations in early April and will be flown twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays on Airbus A330 wide-bodied aircraft. You can fly to Jinan in both business and economy classes.

3. Tibet is a young airline

The Chinese Aviation Agency approved Tibet Airlines in March 2010, so it is a quite young airline. The company ordered three Airbus A319 passenger aircrafts at the start, and its first machine was received on 2 July 2011.
