According to the weather forecast, snowfall will hit Southern Finland on Saturday, 10 December 2022, and may cause delays in air traffic. We ask passengers to be prepared for delays.

“Finavia’s goal is safe and smooth air traffic in all weather conditions. It is based on our winter maintenance and cooperation with air traffic control, airlines and ground handling companies,” says Jani Elasmaa, Finavia’s Vice President responsible for Helsinki Airport’s runway and apron operations.

On Saturday, snowfall will be abundant especially in the early hours of the morning and in the afternoon, which may affect runway ploughing and aircraft deicing.

Delays in departing flights may also have an impact on arriving flights and baggage claim.

We ask passengers to follow the communications of their airline to keep up to date about potential cancellations and long delays. Real-time information about arriving and departing flights at Helsinki Airport is available on the Finavia website.
