The political strike of the Trade Union for the Public and Welfare Sectors (JHL) may affect bus and train connections to airports on Thursday, 14 December 2023.

JHL has announced a public transport strike on Thursday, 14 December 2023. If realised, the strike will affect public transport and may make it more difficult to get to and leave the airport.

On Thursday, 14 December, we are asking passengers to reserve more time for getting to the airport and check available transport connections in advance. All Finavia airports have parking facilities for private vehicles. At Helsinki Airport, parking is possible with or without an advance reservation.

Due to the public transport strike, the demand for taxis in the Helsinki metropolitan area is exceptionally high on Thursday, December 14th. There may be challenges in the availability of taxis. We recommend using your own car for passengers travelling to Helsinki Airport.

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused to passengers. Finavia is not a party to the matter and the measures are not directed against Finavia.
