The Russian aviation authorities have issued a new regulation which includes limitations concerning the transport of liquids in airplanes. The regulation took effect on 8 March and will be effective until the end of the Sochi Olympics, i.e. the end of March.

If you are going to switch planes at a Russian airport, pack all liquids as cargo hold luggage in Finland. According to information we have received, tax-free products purchased at airports are not allowed in airplanes in Russia.

The regulation also applies to passengers departing from Russia. When you return to Finland, pack all liquids in cargo hold luggage. Security check in Russia will remove all liquids from hand luggage.

However, it is likely that baby food and pharmaceuticals are allowed in hand luggage. They are subject to particularly careful security check procedures.

The procedures in Russia may vary by airport.
