Autumn often makes you want to start a new, healthier style of life. This is easy at Helsinki Airport, and you can even take meals with you on the flight.

Why not try these examples of light and healthy meal options selected from the wide range of the airport's cafés and restaurants:

  • Sandwich with cold-smoked salmon and cream cheese flavoured with chives at Nordic Kitchen, EUR 14.50 (Gate 36)
  • Nigiri sushi (ten pieces) at Two Tigers, EUR 24.90 (Gate 34)
  • Salad with three light toppings at Bistrot Helsinki, EUR 10.00 (Terminal 2)
  • Sandwich with roast beef and kiwi at Johan&Nyström, EUR 7.90 (Gate 13)
  • Sandwich with avocado and sun-dried tomatoes at Freshly Made, EUR 7.00 (Gate 27)

Many airport cafés serve a fresh fruit salad with juicy grapes and delicious melons. You can choose a large or small portion (EUR 3.90/5.20).

The secret behind the novel taste of the farm-cheese salad (EUR 5.40) is cabbage flavoured with a lemon vinaigrette, garnished with high-fibre linseeds and fresh rocket.

Restaurant Fly Inn (Gate 27) serves a green salad topped with low-fat soy-marinated sirloin, soft avocado and fresh sprouts. The salad comes in two portion sizes, large or small (EUR 14.20/16.50).

At Gate 14, Seasons' serves traditional salmon soup with rye bread (EUR 16.80). The soup is usually creamy, but a clear, dairy-free version is available on request.

At Cesar's Little Italy's (Terminal 2) popular Eden salad bar you can put together a salad that is just as healthy as you like (EUR 1.90 for 100 g). The toppings include fresh vegetables and fruit, low-fat and high-protein grilled chicken, tuna and cheese. You can easily make your salad vegan too.
