You can now order airport food and do shopping in advance. Collection takes place in the airport pick-up points at the time most convenient to the passenger. Finavia is developing new digital services and aims to make the pre-flight experience as easy as possible for the passengers.

Hungry in a hurry? Pre-order food and collect it at a pick-up point

The airport's new ToGo service enables passengers to order cafe items in advance and to collect them at the pick-up point at their convenience. Passengers don’t not have to stand in line for the cashier; instead they get their food quickly.

Payments are made via the application at the time of collection. Service is quicker with no need for separate card payments.

- People want their everyday life to be easier. On-line stores and various food pick- up and delivery services have become more common in recent years. Now you can order food for your flight conveniently from your home sofa, and the ready packed items can be picked up at the pick- up point without needing to queue, says Finavia’s commercial director Elena Stenholm.

At the launch stage, ToGo service will include four service points at the airport:

Customers who do advance orders get items at special prices in March.

- Our goal is to have a larger selection of airport cafes and restaurants included in the pre-order service during 2017, Stenholm says.

The ToGo service can be found in the Helsinki Airport mobile app. Pick-up points can be found at the cafes. Pre-ordered items can be taken on board or they can be enjoyed at the cafe before boarding.

Shop and collect at your convenience

Passengers can also order Helsinki Duty Free (Dufry) products, such as cosmetics, alcohol and sweets, through the new Reserve & Collect service.

Passengers order items on-line in advance and collect and pay the packaged items at the airport pick-up point when they leave on a flight.

Due to legislation, Duty Free items can only be bought by passengers flying overseas.

Even better customer service

Finavia continues to develop digital services aimed at passengers with the intention of making the pre-flight experience as smooth as possible. New digital solutions facilitate the beginning of the journey already at home.

In addition of using the Helsinki Airport application to order food, you can also book a parking space and buy Iittala products in advance. The application also estimates the waiting time for the security check, guides you to the nearest service and knows when you can board the plane.
