No coronavirus at Copenhagen Airport: the Chinese transfer passenger did not have an infection

According to the Finnish health authorities (THL) the Chinese passenger who travelled from Chengdu via Helsinki Airport to Copenhagen Airport did not have coronavirus.

Earlier today (February 7 2020) the Finnish airport company Finavia Corp., was informed by Copenhagen Airport that a passenger who has travelled from Chengdu onboard of Sichuan Airlines had symptoms of coronavirus.

- The health and welfare of our airport staff and passengers is our priority. This why we instantly performed additional clean-up procedures at areas where this transfer passenger could have moved around at Helsinki Airport, says Finavia's Heini Noronen-Juhola, VP at Helsinki Airport.

She continues that Finavia contacted the Finnish health authorities instantly to get more instructions as they are responsible for the decisions about additional, corona virus related measures.

17.30: The susbected coronavirus at Copenhagen Airport turned out to be negative.

13.10. The transfer passenger has traveled with Sichuan Airlines from Chengdu via Helsinki to Copenhagen. The plane has landed at Helsinki Airport around five o'clock in the morning and has continued to Copenhagen around seven Finnish time.

12:40. Finavia is going over possible routes that the transfer passenger could have taken on his/her way through Helsinki Airport and is performing clean-up procedures in these areas.
