The new 2,000-space P1 Premium/P2 parking hall located near the terminal’s main entrance is the best choice when you want to drive as close to the departure gate as possible. However, there is plenty of choice for parking at Helsinki Airport for all needs and budgets.

Helsinki Airport’s newest parking hall, P1 Premium/P2, opened on 1 December 2021.

“The new parking hall was built to meet the expectations and future needs of today’s customers. Using the parking hall is pleasant, easy and quick,” says Jukka Isomäki, Finavia’s Head of Parking and Landside Traffic for Helsinki Airport.

Located on the ground floor of the parking hall, P1 Premium is a heated parking area situated directly below the new arrivals hall. P2 covers floors 1–8. There is a direct connection to the terminal from both P1 Premium and P2 via an indoor route. P2 is well suited for business and leisure travellers who value quality and ease.

Nearly 300 charging points for electric cars, using self-generated solar power

The new parking hall’s parking spaces are bigger.

Finding one’s car in the 2,000-space, nine-floor building has been made as easy as possible.

“The lobby has a screen on which you can use the Find My Car system. Users enter their car’s registration number in the system, and the system will show which parking space the car is in,” Isomäki says.

The parking hall has nearly 300 charging points for electric cars. An entire floor has been reserved for charging points in P2, and there are also charging points in the heated P1 Premium area.

The solar panels installed on the south wall of the building produce electricity that is used to charge electric cars. The P1 Premium parking area is heated using heat recovered from the terminal building.

Customers can drive in to any parking hall without scanning a ticket at a gate

There is plenty of choice for parking at Helsinki Airport. In addition to the new parking hall, the airport also still has the old favourites P3, P4, and P5 as well as short-term parking.

The P5 parking hall offers high-quality indoor parking very close to the main entrance of the terminal at slightly lower prices than the new hall. P4 offers easy and fairly quick access to both terminals. P4 is the only outdoor parking area at Helsinki Airport and is especially suitable for passengers who are looking for an affordable alternative or whose vehicles exceed the height restriction for entering the indoor parking areas. Area P3 is the best option when departing from Terminal 1.

When arriving at the airport, you can drive in to any parking hall without scanning a ticket at the gate. Payments can be made via a payment terminal or on the Finavia website with a mobile phone, as well as via the Moovy app in the P1 Premium and P2 areas. Parking spaces in all parking halls can also be booked in advance.

“We have switched to a ticketless parking system when it comes to pre-booking parking spaces. Customers who have booked their parking in advance will no longer need to reach out of their car’s window when driving in or out, as the gate will open when the registration plate is recognised. You will also not need to worry about keeping hold of any tickets,” Isomäki says.
