On Tuesday, 5 December, Finavia’s Tampere-Pirkkala Airport celebrated the opening of Air Baltic’s Gran Canaria route. Air Baltic will open four new routes at Tampere-Pirkkala Airport for the winter, and the airline will fly to a total of eight different destinations from the airport.

Finavia and Air Baltic celebrated the opening of four new routes from Tampere-Pirkkala Airport on 5 December 2023. The new destinations include Gran Canaria and Tenerife in the Canary Islands, Kittilä and Tallinn. Air Baltic flies a daily triangle route to Tallinn and Amsterdam, and Kittilä is the airline’s first domestic destination within Finland.

“At Finavia, we are actively developing our airports’ connections to the rest of the world in order to ensure Finland’s accessibility. Accessibility from Pirkanmaa to the rest of Europe and from the rest of Europe to Pirkanmaa is very good at the moment, and the wide range of routes serves both business and tourism. Of particular interest among the new routes is the route to Kittilä, which provides the region with an excellent connection to Lapland,” says Petri Vuori, Finavia’s Senior Vice President responsible for route development.
