Lufthansa will fly its new Oulu–Munich route next summer, while also ensuring flights until the 2024–2025 winter season. This makes Lufthansa the only airline so far to offer year-round international scheduled flights to Northern Finland.

Lufthansa launched the long-awaited route from Oulu Airport to Munich, Germany, on 16 December 2023. The route is currently flown twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Regular scheduled flights from Oulu to Central Europe have proven to be popular among passengers. The airline has now confirmed that scheduled flights will continue during the summer season, being operated twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Flights will also continue to be operated twice a week during the 2024–2025 winter season.

“The Oulu–Munich route has been an excellent addition to the route offering of our airports. The route has been popular with passengers since its launch and has significantly strengthened the international accessibility of Northern Finland. This popularity is now reflected in the continuation of flights throughout the year, which we are very happy about,” says Petri Vuori, Finavia’s Senior Vice President responsible for route development.

Flights for summer and next winter can now be booked through the Lufthansa website.
