Finavia continues to renovate Helsinki Airport and to improve the passenger experience. In November, the Arrivals 2A lobby in Terminal 2 will be transformed completely. After the renovation, it will not only be easier for passengers to leave the airport – it will also be tastier.

- It has been over 10 years since Arrivals 2A was last renovated. The passenger volumes at Helsinki Airport have multiplied since then. This alone makes the renovation necessary. The lobby is also the first experience of Finland for many passengers and we want to make this experience as pleasant as possible, says Finavia's Director of Passenger Services, Anne Gullstén.

After the renovation of Arrivals 2A, the range of services at the airport will be updated and broadened. Services will be centralised to make it easier for arriving passengers to do business at the airport or leave the airport. The service points in luggage handover lobby Exit 2A will be renovated at the same time.

The restaurant selection of the area will also be updated and expanded with a wider selection. The new restaurant world will be available to passengers, those waiting for and escorting people, as well as other visitors.

The renovation begins on Monday, 10 November, with preparation. The demolition of the old business premises and construction begin in the early 2015. The renovation is expected to be completed in summer 2015.

During the renovation, luggage handover lobby Exit 2B will also be transformed.

Helsinki Airport serves passengers 24/7. Services at Arrivals 2A, such as tourist information, taxi services, Change Group's currency exchange point, Alko and the Pharmacy are open also during the renovation.

All renovation work is tried to do in a way that causes as little disturbance to passengers and airport personnel as possible. The renovation will, however, be visible and cause noise at the area.

Finavia will inform passengers on its website about possible changes that impact access at the airport.

Finavia develops Helsinki Airport in a comprehensive manner

Finavia's ongoing development programme aims to strengthen Helsinki Airport's position as one Europe's leading transit airports.

At the same time, Finavia is implementing a wide-ranging service reform at Helsinki Airport which will bring 70 new or revamped shops and restaurants to the airport.
