Finland's best-selling rechargeable hybrid car Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV has a visible role at Helsinki Airport.

The PHEV delivered to Finavia operates in the apron as a so-called "Follow me" vehicle, which guides aircraft to their positions.

Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV's features make it suitable for this demanding use. The distances in the apron are often short, but it may be necessary to accelerate to full speed very quickly. In these cases, the extra torque provided by the electric motor is beneficial.

The PHEV's strengths also include a four-wheel drive, low fuel consumption, good visibility and a low noise emission level enabled by the hybrid technology .

Finavia's Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Intense+ has been equipped for airport use. The vehicle is equipped with, for example, signal lights, three aircraft radios and a transponder for ground and air radars.
