The Moomin will make a stop at the airport on their way to the opening of the Tampere Moomin Museum. The pop-up exhibition at the airport will be open to air passengers from 27 January to 17 June.

Familiar characters from the Moominvalley, from Moomintroll to Fillyjonk, spread around the terminal area following the security checkpoint. The Moomin were attracted to the airport by its ice castle and small-scale art exhibition. The exhibition displays digital drafts of the original illustrations of Tove Jansson's Moominsummer Madness.

“The Moomin are part of Finnish culture, and we are very happy to host this exhibition at the airport and, in this way, offer new experiences to our passengers. Hundreds of thousands of passengers pass through the airport every year and, through this cooperation, we can also increase the visibility of the new museum which is important for the entire region,” says Mari Nurminen, manager of Tampere-Pirkkala Airport.

The pop-up exhibition at Tampere-Pirkkala Airport offers treats of the new Moomin Museum top open at the Tampere Hall on 17 June.
