Three new routes to Russia

The connections from Helsinki Airport to Russia continue to improve as Finnair opens direct routes to Nizhny Novgorod, Samara and Kazan during this summer.

Helsinki Airport’s position as an international transfer airport will further strengthen as Finnair opens new direct routes between Helsinki and three Russian destinations. The flights provide the Russian passengers with extensive connections to all over Europe via Helsinki Airport. At the same time, the Russian connections of Finnish and European passengers will further improve.

The new routes are flown with Embraer E90 aircraft.

Nizhny Novgorod, with 1.2 million inhabitants, is a growing IT hub and the administrative centre of the Volga Federal District. The flights from Helsinki to Nizhny Novgorod will start operating from July 25.

Kazan, with a population of 1.1 million, is the multi-ethnic capital of the Republic of Tatarstan and the world’s centre of Tatar Muslim culture. The flights will begin on August 18.

Samara, also with population of 1.1 million, is an industrial hub of southern Russia noted for its aerospace industries and Samara State Aerospace University. The flights to Samara will begin on August 7.
