Nordic Choice Hotels opens Clarion Hotel Helsinki Airport in the vicinity of the airport in October 2016.

The new hotel in Finland is part of the Norwegian Nordic Choice Hotels’ expansion strategy: their objective is to open ten hotels in Finland in five years. The first Finnish hotel of the group, Clarion Hotel Helsinki in the Helsinki neighbourhood of Jätkäsaari, will open its doors four days before the airport hotel.

The new hotel that will be opened in the proximity of the Helsinki Airport bears a strong message about the swift realisation of the group’s expansion strategy. Nordic Choices’ hotel capacity in the Helsinki region will grow up to almost 700 rooms with Clarion Hotel Helsinki Airport’s 258 rooms.

In addition to high-class rooms, Clarion Hotel Helsinki Airport invests in the restaurant offering as well as meeting and congress facilities. The hotel has 258 rooms and 10 meeting facilities, the largest of which can host 260 guests. The hotel also has a restaurant, bar, two saunas and a gym.

Once opened, Clarion Hotel Helsinki Airport will employ 80 people.

“We want to enter the Finnish market with a bang. First-rate decoration, creative restaurants and Fun Dining and Living Room concepts turn our hotels into a completely new experience. We want to show that staying at a hotel can mean much more than just a bed and breakfast. We have successfully claimed a pioneer status in Sweden and Norway by being different and offering the unexpected. Now we want to bring Clarion and the same mindset to Helsinki,” says Henrik Berghult, Senior Vice President, Clarion Hotels.

Skanska began the construction work for the eight-storeyed Clarion Hotel Helsinki Airport in summer 2015. SARC Architects are responsible for the hotel’s architecture. The lessor of the property is Keva.

Clarion Hotel Helsinki will open its doors on 17 October and Clarion Hotel Helsinki Airport will open on 21 October 2016.
