The airport’s Two Tigers restaurant at gate 34 is the first stage towards exotic countries for many travellers.

Ethnic food enjoys steady popularity at Helsinki Airport. Restaurant Two Tigers is especially popular among travellers flying to Asia. So this is a sign of a good ethnic restaurant!

Another reason for the popularity of Two Tigers is that customers can use Chinese, Japanese, or Korean when visiting the restaurant.

“Our most popular dishes are the ramen and udon noodle soups that were sold in the thousands in December, for example. Our sushi assortments, which are made on the spot and guaranteed to be fresh, are perennial favourites”, says Juha Räsänen, Operations Manager at HMSHost Finland.

The rich Udon Soy Soup (€15.90) tastes of soy, grilled pork and surimi, or crab sticks. Udon Kombu Soup (€15.90) provides tastes of seaweed, shrimp, and shiitake mushroom.

Ramen miso soup is available with either grilled chicken and crab sticks (€13.90) or in the Korean way, with grilled pork and kimchi (€15.90).

There are many variations of kimchi, the national food of South Korea, but typically it is Chinese cabbage soured through lactic fermentation. Kimchi gets its fire and red colour from the spices used, including chilli, onion, garlic, and ginger.

The most popular sushi assortment is California

A California roll, an assortment of 10 tidbits (€22.90), is made up of avocado, prawns, mayonnaise, and sesame seeds. It also contains salmon, tuna, and crab nigiri.

The California roll obtained its name from history. Preparation began in Los Angeles in the 1960s and ‘70s, when a Japanese chef working on the West Coast came up with the idea of testing avocado on sushi pieces instead of tuna. The mild-tasting roll has enhanced sushi’s popularity all over the world, and children enjoy it too.

On a cold winter day, Thai curries at Two Tigers provide much-needed warmth. Red curry is served with chicken (€16.90) and green curry with fish (€17.90). Basmati rice is served as an accompaniment, of course.

We welcome you to enjoy these exotic delicacies!
