Finavia received a record-breaking number of applications for its summers jobs: more than 2,200. Finavia selected tens of employees for seasonal work across Finland. The summer employees will perform maintenance, device servicing, customer service, communication and credit control tasks.

Summer jobs are important to Finavia, and the company provides its seasonal workforce with good orientation training and overall experience of the work. Finavia held an orientation event for its seasonal workers in early June, welcoming them to the company and introducing them to Finavia and its businesses. The company also collects feedback from the employees.

Finavia’s subsidiary Airpro also received more than 1,600 applications for its summer jobs in security control, aircraft loading and unloading.

Meeting future employees in the summer

Finavia sees summer jobs as an important way to meet potential future employees. The aim is to identify the best employees from early on. Motivation and the will to develop are some of the key selection criteria for seasonal tasks.

Finavia is happy about the popularity of its summer jobs, because it has invested in its employer image this year by, for example, participating at a recruitment fair and the Responsible Summer Job campaign and through active cooperation with Finnair and the City of Vantaa in the Jobs@Aviapolis project.

Thanks to the Helsinki Airport Development Programme, Finavia will employ even more people in the future, as the passenger volume at Helsinki Airport is expected to increase to 20 million over the next four years.
