Ivalo, Kittilä, and Kuusamo Airports have reopened as commercial flights to these airports have resumed.

Starting in August, Ivalo, Kittilä, and Kuusamo Airports welcome passengers once again. In September, Tampere Airport is also planning on reopening its doors, as flights are planned to continue.

The terminals of these airports are open to passengers according to flight schedules, which means they are open during the time that flights arrive and depart from the airports.

International flights are currently being operated from Helsinki, Turku, and Mariehamn Airports. In addition to Ivalo, Kittilä, and Kuusamo Airports, domestic flights are operated from Oulu, Vaasa, Kuopio, and Rovaniemi Airports. Tampere Airport is open and serves for example the Finnish Defence Forces. Jyväskylä Airport's runway is under renovation and therefor it's open only for the Finnish Defence Forces' activities.

The opening hours of services and restaurants at these airports depends on scheduled flights, which means they are open whenever flights arrive and depart from these airports. Some services are open more often, and therefore, passengers may check the opening hours at each airport’s website.

Health and safety measures are actively being taken

The health and safety of passengers is of utmost importance to Finavia, and various health and safety measures are being taken at all Finavia’s airports.

To all passengers, arriving from countries with valid travel restrictions, COVID-19 instructions and quarantine instructions will be handed out personally. For passengers arriving directly from countries that travel restrictions have been lifted for, COVID-19 instructions will be handed out personally. Passengers arriving from Helsinki Airport will receive the authorities’ instructions at the departure gate at Helsinki Airport.

Passengers are reminded to take care of good hand hygiene, keep a safe distance from other passengers and airport staff, and to wear a mask at the airport with various signs, floor stickers and announcements.

Finavia strongly recommends passengers wear a mask at the airport. Airport staff, who work with customers, all wear a mask.
