Operated by Finavia, Helsinki Airport has undergone a stylish makeover, and the 70 new shops, cafés and restaurants now make waiting for your flight even more enjoyable. The airport’s services cater to all tastes and styles of travelling.

For Luxury Lovers

The Wine & View wine bar has a wonderful quality and range. The selection varies from sparkling wine by the glass for €6, to €600 bottles of wine and the world’s best vintages, served by the glass.

The “Tastes of Helsinki Airport” plate, consisting of delicacies from small Finnish farms, includes PunaHeidi cheese from Herkkujuustola, based in Mouhijärvi, beef from the Ylöjärvi-based meat processing company Veljekset Mattila, and hand-made marshmallows from the Tuusula-based Konditoria pH7.

The shelves of Beauty Store are filled with premium brands, such as Tom Ford Beauty, La Mer, Bobbi Brown and MAC, which still are rather rare in Finland. The shop is the first Nordic sales outlet for Jo Malone London, which sells scents, scented candles and body care products. Origins, a more natural choice, is also only available at Helsinki Airport.

At Beauty Store, you can also enjoy a relaxing manicure or let one of their makeup artists quickly refresh your look. The skilled staff will use their expertise to help you select the perfect cosmetics.

Helsinki Airport has become a paradise for the brand-conscious over the last few years. Clothing, accessories and bags from Bally, Furla, Hugo Boss, Loewe, Love Moschino, MCM, Mont Blanc, Parajumpers, Tiger of Sweden, Versace and many other brands are waiting for passengers in the departure gate area.

Did you know that Max Mara, Michael Kors and many other cosmetics brands are cheaper at the airport than in town?

For Favoring Finnish

Iittala Store provides iconic Finnish design at Helsinki Airport. The selection has wonderful classics as well as new products from the Iittala X Issey Miyake collection.

Marimekko offers its Tasaraita and Unikko designs and other beloved classics, as well as products from the new range. The selections at the airport shops include women’s and children’s clothing, accessories, interior decoration products and kitchenware.

TAPIO café, inspired by the Kalevala, is brimming with the Finnish spirit. Almost everything you can see, touch or taste in the café is Finnish, such as the designer furniture, Iittala kitchenware, the Marimekko outfits worn by the staff and the majority of the ingredients. The walls are decorated with animal-themed artwork by Finnish illustrator Teemu Järvi.

Finefood shops have the best presents from Finland, such as Finnish fish and cheese, Fazer chocolate, Vaasa rye bread, Moomin Coffee, and food from Tertin Kartano.

Finnish art is also exhibited at Helsinki Airport. The photography exhibition Fairytale Forest and the Serious Sea – My New York, by Karoliina Veijo, Johanna Sandin and Emilia Heiskanen focuses on the fairy-tale Sibelius Park, the cool blue shores of Hanko, and the iconic buildings of New York City.

For Gourmet Connoisseurs

Pier Zero is the magnificent architectural masterpiece of Helsinki Airport. The restaurant has timeless Nordic design, and upstairs you can enjoy a glass of bubbly, or fine dining over three courses while enjoying the impressive view. Downstairs is excellent for quick eating, too. Gourmet dishes are also available to take away. Finnish ingredients are favoured in the dishes.

Nordic Kitchen is a combination of a deli, a bar and an à la carte restaurant– it is open round the clock and serves breakfast, snacks, lunch and dinner. Try the Toast Skagen or the delicious mushroom risotto, for example.

Those who like Asian food will of course visit Two Tigers, which serves excellent fresh sushi, noodles and curries. Beverages include green tea and sake.

The Italian styled Bistrot favours organic ingredients and local Finnish food. The freshness of the bread and pastries is guaranteed, as they are baked at the restaurant. Passengers and those accompanying them or meeting them at the airport can enjoy the restaurant’s pizza, pasta, hot soups and fresh salads.

Moi Helsinki is the airport’s relaxed meeting point for passengers and people accompanying them or meeting them. In addition to beer from craft breweries and finger food, the bar has a children’s menu, like many restaurants do.

Beer enthusiasts are also pampered at the stylish 60° Bar & Brewery, with a wide range of beers from craft breweries such as the Tuusula-based Maku Brewing, for example.

For Relaxing

If you are suffering from jet lag or if your flight is late, GoSleep pods are excellent for a moment of relaxation. This is a Finnish innovation, ensuring a quiet, peaceful moment amid the hustle and bustle of the airport. In the sleep pod, you can rest or work in private. You can also recharge your laptop or mobile phone for your flight.

Kainuu Lounge, also known as “everyman's lounge”, is a beautiful space inspired by the nature of the Kainuu region. The lounge is open to everyone free of charge, and you can take a nap there or stretch out in a peaceful setting. Book Swap, located in the lounge, provides something to read on the flight.

Arctic Bar, the airport’s cocktail bar, specialises in delicious drinks made from Finnish ingredients, such as Tunturi Tonic and Kuura Julep, and the roofless outdoor terrace, where you can take a breather before your long flight and enjoy the Finnish weather, be it snow, sleet or sunshine.

M Room, which will open in mid-May, provides high-quality barber services for men. Haircuts, shaves, beard styling and hair colouring at the airport will make sure that your travel companion's hair and beard have a nice style and finish on your trip. You can also visit the barber’s even if you are only visiting the airport.
