“Interest in lounge services continues to grow among passengers. We are pleased that Plaza Premium Group has expanded its presence at Helsinki Airport and is introducing two distinct lounge concepts that further diversify the airport’s service offering,” says Joona Salonen, Finavia’s Head of Airport Lounges.
Demand for lounge services has increased in recent years as more passengers seek quiet spaces for working, relaxing, or spending time with family at the airport. As part of its commitment to further enhancing Helsinki Airport’s internationally recognised passenger experience, Finavia has continued to develop and renew the airport’s lounge offering in recent years.
More choice for passengers
Plaza Premium Lounge Aurora and Plaza Premium Lounge Lumi are located in the non-Schengen area near Gate 40.
The two lounges offer distinct experiences tailored to different passenger needs, providing greater choice for travellers before their journey. Whether looking for a quiet place to relax, catch up on work, or enjoy refreshments before a flight, passengers can choose the lounge environment that best suits their preferences.

Located next to Aurora, the new Plaza Premium Lounge Lumi welcomes walk-in guests, travellers with advance bookings, and members of lounge access programmes. Designed with families in mind, the lounge offers a comfortable and inviting environment for passengers of all ages. Lumi is also home to the world's first iWall interactive gaming wall installed in an airport lounge. Developed in Finland, the motion-based gaming platform enables both children and adults to enjoy active entertainment without the need for controllers.
The Plaza Premium Lounges are operated by Plaza Premium Group, a global airport hospitality provider. In spring 2026, the company also opened a new Bites & Plates restaurant at Helsinki Airport.
