Responsibility
A busy businessman switching planes on his way to Shanghai. A mother, father, and young children happily setting off for their holiday destination, grandparents in tow. Newlyweds embarking on the honeymoon of their dreams. Bunches of friends. Some small, some anything but small, young and old alike.

Travellers come in all shapes and sizes. We all have our own needs and wishes, but we have one thing in common: we want airport navigation to be smooth and our waiting time to be pleasant. We appreciate good service, a wide selections of restaurants and shops, clear signs and instructions, friendly personnel, knowing we can find a quiet place to rest and relax...

We are ready to welcome each passenger.

In combination with fast and direct connections to Asia, Helsinki Airport's unwavering determination to develop the facilities further has made this airport an attractive option for passengers the world over.

So much so that Northern Europe's leading long-haul airport is a particular favourite among transfer passengers – and every third passenger's choice of route depends on the transfer airports.

We are confident that some 20 million passengers a year will be passing through Helsinki Airport by 2020, and we are ready to welcome each of them!

Next year, Helsinki Airport begins a 900-million-euro development project to increase our annual capacity from 15 million to 20 million passengers.

This project will allow us to provide more spaces for wide-body aircraft, an extension to the terminal for departing passengers, more security checkpoints, fuller automation for bag check-in and drop-off, more parking places, and better traffic management.

In short, we'll be making things still smoother.

Welcome to our airport, millions of passengers!
