From December on some explosion sounds can be heard around the P5 area. The extension will bring 3 000 new parking spots to the airport.

Rock blasting will start during December and continue until spring 2015.

The work will be planned so that as little disturbance as possible is being caused to the ground traffic.

However, on special occasions the traffic at the surrounding roads (Tutkatie, Teletie, Terminaalitie) may have to be stopped for a few minutes at a time.

Blasted rock will be transported away from the area, which causes an unusual amount of lorry traffic in the airport are.

3,000 new parking spaces to Helsinki Airport

The airport’s parking garage P5 is being extended. The extension is expected to complete by autumn 2016.

The car park will be available during the extension work, but there will be less parking spaces than usually. The access route to P5 is from Teletie.

We apologize for any inconvenience the renovation work may cause to passengers.
