Finavia's Turku Airport renovation work is progressing as planned. The terminal now has a café and shop area for departing passengers, and the work will now focus on the other facilities of the terminal building. The renovation of traffic areas means that the airport will be closed during 30 June - 27 July, and there will be no traffic during that time.

Renovation, worth €14 million, of Terminal 1 and traffic areas commenced at Turku Airport in February. This includes the replacement of the structures and systems and the improvement in the comfort and energy efficiency of the airport. The starting point of the renovation is to pay particular attention to passenger service processes.

Due to the work performed in the traffic areas, the airport will be closed for four weeks in the summer and there will be no air traffic during 30 June – 27 July.

"The goal is to minimise the most visible impact of the renovation by scheduling the work in July, during which the airport will be closed due to traffic area work. Flights departing from Turku Airport have been rerouted, and passengers have been informed by airlines", says airport manager Juha Aaltonen at Finavia.

Finavia commenced investments at network airports at the beginning of the year. The renovation in Turku is expected to be completed in early 2015. Finavia would like to apologise for any possible inconvenience caused to passengers by the renovation.
