In April, Finnair will start direct scheduled flights between Helsinki and the sunny island of Madeira. During the second half of the year, Finnair will also start scheduled flights to a number of other popular holiday destinations.

Until now, Finnair has only flown charter flights to Madeira.

Starting on 27 April 2015, Finnair will fly scheduled flights to Madeira once a week on Mondays all year round. The duration of the flight is about 5 hours 40 minutes.

During the second half of the year, Finnair will also start scheduled flights to such destinations as Eilat, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Ho Chi Minh City for the winter season.

Madeira – a paradise for action-packed holidays

The island of Madeira, which is located in the Atlantic Ocean, is particularly well-known for its magnificent nature and colourful culture. Beautiful nature, excellent hiking opportunities and the fact that the island enjoys a mild climate all year round have made Madeira a popular holiday destination.

The island, which is part of an autonomous region of Portugal, is an excellent destination for activity holidays: you can do surfing and diving in the sea or hiking and walking in the mountains. At the same time, the rich cultural and culinary offerings of the capital Funchal are a real enjoyment if you prefer a holiday in a city.

You can buy tickets for the flights on Finnair website.
