Connections from Helsinki Airport to the Balkans are becoming even more diverse as Air Serbia launches a new route to Belgrade in June.

This will be the first year-round direct link from Helsinki to Belgrade. Flights will be operated three days a week: Mondays and Saturdays in the morning, Thursday in the afternoons. The flight will be operated with an Airbus A319, and the journey will take just above 2.5 hours. The route will be opened on 1.6.2019.

–It's great to see yet another airline joining Helsinki Airport. Air Serbia and the new Belgrade route opening is a great addition to our connections to the Balkan Peninsula, says Petri Vuori, Director of Finavia's Route Development.

–I am delighted to announce the establishment of a direct air link between Belgrade and Helsinki, bringing closer ties between Serbia and Finland. The new link will provide business and leisure travellers with convenient travel opportunities between the two capital cities and also provides a seamless onward connection through Belgrade to major destinations in Southeast Europe, the Mediterranean and other among Air Serbia’s 49 destinations, says Duncan Naysmith, CEO of Air Serbia.

Air Serbia is a Serbian national airline whose roots are in Aeroput, an airline which was established in 1927. The company's main hub is Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade, with connections to nearly 50 destinations. Air Serbia is part of the Etihad Airways Alliance.
