In December 2024, Scandinavian Airlines will open a new route from Copenhagen to Rovaniemi Airport. The route will be flown twice a week during the 2024–2025 winter season.

The route from the Danish capital to Rovaniemi will be flown between 2 December 2024 and 6 February 2025. Flights will be operated twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays.

"We are delighted to welcome SAS to Rovaniemi Airport! Direct international routes are very important for the accessibility of Finland as a whole. We are actively working with our partners to develop routes, and this new international route opening to Lapland is a result of that work. The route also connects Rovaniemi to the SAS main hub in Copenhagen, which offers smooth connections to destinations around the world," says Petri Vuori , Finavia's Senior Vice President responsible for route development.

"SAS’ new Copenhagen–Rovaniemi route will improve our accessibility and provide smooth connections across Europe for people departing from Rovaniemi," says Sanna Kärkkäinen, Managing Director of Visit Rovaniemi.
