Earlier this year, Finnair introduced direct flights from Helsinki Airport to Alta in Norway, Catania, Florence, and Valencia in Italy, as well as Kos in Greece. Most recently, Finnair has added flights to Kuressaare in Estonia, Luxembourg, Stavanger in Norway, Thessaloniki in Greece, Tirana in Albania, Turin in Italy, and Umeå in Sweden.
Finnair is also responding to demand for Lapland by restarting three direct routes to Finnish Lapland in winter 2026. These flights will complement Finnair’s existing daily connections from Helsinki Airport to Lapland. The resumed routes will operate twice weekly from Brussels and Zurich to Kittilä Airport, and twice weekly from Paris to Rovaniemi.
With these additions, Finnair’s network in 2026 will include a total of 93 European destinations, 11 in Asia, seven in North America, and two in the Middle East.
“We are excited to seize market growth opportunities and further strengthen our extensive network of direct connections from our Helsinki hub. The new European destinations link fresh markets to our long-haul network, and the direct Lapland flights bring the wonders of Finnish Lapland even closer to the world,” says Christine Rovelli, Finnair’s Senior Vice President, Network and Revenue Management, in the company’s press release.
“We are delighted about Finnair’s new openings to Europe! Finnair is an important airline partner for us, and its new routes further strengthen Finland’s accessibility,” says Petri Vuori, Senior Vice President, Route Development at Finavia.
