Summer cottage

At the summer cottage, passengers can immerse themselves in the authentic Finnish summer spirit at any time of the year. Access to the cottage is free of charge and will delight people of all ages who enjoy cottage living. The area is open to passengers whose flights depart from the airport’s non-Schengen area.

There are close to half a million cottages in Finland. For some people, summer cottages traditionally represent closeness to nature and a return to an unhurried and simple way of living, where you carry water for bathing from the lake to the sauna, chop the logs yourself and gather berries for dessert from the nearby forest. For others, the most important thing may be water sports or enjoying a glass of wine by the fire.

The airport’s own summer cottage can be found at gate 40. At the summer cottage, you can immerse yourself in the spirit of cottage living by listening to the sounds of nature and pausing on the terrace to take in the landscape. Of course, the cottage also has a sauna and an outhouse. The furniture, textiles and decorations highlight Finnishness, sustainability and craftsmanship.
