The Terminal 2 taxi station will be relocated to the ground floor on 15 April.
The current taxi station in front of Terminal 2 at the arrivals level will be relocated to the terminal’s ground floor. Access to the new taxi station will be from the pick-up area via Rahtitie. Exit will be via Rahtitie and Parkkitie onto Terminaalitie.
Passengers will access the new taxi station from arrivals hall 2 via an escalator going down past Burger King or by taking the lift down one level to floor P.
The new taxi arrangements will be similar to those in place in the current taxi station at the arrivals level.
- Designated lanes have been reserved for the airport’s three contractual partners.
- The fourth lane is reserved for other taxi operators.
- The pick-up points for taxis booked in advance, transport booked via an application and for cars transporting contract customers (former P100 permits) are located adjacent to these four lanes.
Barriers installed on Rahtitie: identifiers required for access starting from 15 April
Barriers will be installed on Rahtitie adjacent to the Airside Center. There will be two access barriers and one exit barrier. The left-hand side access barrier is primarily reserved for taxis.
The barriers on Rahtitie have an automated taxi direction and access control system. Identifiers and access rights are required for entry. Current identifiers and access rights will remain valid.
During rush hour, smooth taxi traffic will be ensured by limiting other traffic on Rahtitie. Limitations to other traffic will be in place between 7:30–9:30, 15:00–17:00, 19:00–21:00 and 22:30–00:30.
The Terminal 2 invalid taxi area will be relocated on 15 May
The invalid taxi drop-off and waiting area in front of T2 will be relocated in front of the Scandic hotel. The new drop-off and waiting area will be at the new bus station opened on 15 May.
A new drop-off zone to be opened in front of Terminal 2 23 May
From 23 May, taxis and private cars will no longer be allowed to drop off passengers to the front of the Terminal 2 check-in area. Drop-off traffic will be relocated one level down on the arrivals level, on the current place of the bus station.
Around a week and a half later, 2 June, a new drop-off zone for taxis and private cars will be opened. It is located on the arrivals level, in front of the current arrival doors. Only class M1 vehicles will have access to the drop-off zone.
Pay attention to road safety
Drive lanes are narrower than usual, there is plenty of construction traffic at the airport and access routes may change quickly. Rock blasting is also ongoing at Helsinki Airport, resulting in traffic stoppages. For this reason, we request that drivers pay particular attention to road safety and observe low speeds.
