Erka Koivunen appointed Chief Information Security Officer at Finavia

Erka Koivunen will start working as Chief Information Security Officer at the airport company Finavia on 9 January 2023. He will be responsible for the development and implementation of Finavia’s information security and data protection strategy as well as the cybersecurity system.

Erka Koivunen has extensive and diverse experience in information security management and development. He worked for a long time as Chief Information Security Officer at WithSecure and, before that, held senior cybersecurity management positions in the Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority and in the ITC company Elisa.

“At Finavia, we invest strongly in the development of information security. We are very happy to have Erka Koivunen as part of our team. I believe that Erka’s extensive experience, expertise and drive to develop things will make it possible to improve the maturity level of the cybersecurity management system. “Finavia manages and develops the infrastructure of 20 airports in Finland, which is also important and critical from the point of view of society’s security of supply. We will continue to strengthen our cybersecurity and cyber risk management and thus ensure the safety and security of both our operations and air traffic,” Erka Koivunen says.
