“Recognition from our passengers is especially valuable to us. It shows that our long-term efforts to create a smooth and enjoyable travel experience are reflected in our passengers’ everyday journeys. A great passenger experience is built through the collaboration of the entire airport community, so this recognition belongs to everyone working at Helsinki Airport,” says Laura Inttilä, Director of Helsinki Airport at Finavia.
In ACI’s Airport Service Quality (ASQ) programme, passengers evaluate their airport experience across more than 50 service quality indicators. The awards are based entirely on passenger survey results: winners are not selected by a jury, and ACI does not independently assess airports for the awards.
Finavia’s own passenger research at Helsinki Airport also shows that travellers value above all a smooth and hassle-free journey. Year after year, a positive passenger experience is built primarily on seamless travel processes and friendly service. The experience begins long before passengers reach the departure gate, which is why we continuously develop the entire passenger journey, from arrival and wayfinding through to departure. Feedback also highlights that while functional facilities, modern technology and a wide range of services are important parts of the overall experience, the most memorable moments are often created through human interaction.

Helsinki Airport has received multiple international recognitions this year
The new recognition from ACI further strengthens Helsinki Airport’s strong track record in international airport rankings and awards. Earlier this year, Helsinki Airport was named Europe’s Best Airport in the 15–25 million passenger category in ACI’s ASQ programme for the seventh time. In March, passengers also voted Helsinki Airport the Best Airport in Northern Europe at the Skytrax World Airport Awards for the tenth time.
The ASQ Customer Experience Awards is ACI’s global recognition programme based on passenger feedback collected at airports worldwide. In 2025, the ASQ programme gathered nearly 707,000 survey responses from more than 400 airports across 110 countries.
