Pack correctly: Consumer electronics and mobile devices

Power banks for mobile phones and laptop computers must always be carried in hand luggage when travelling by air.

When packing electronic devices for your trip, make sure that no prohibited items or substances are left in your checked baggage. Items such as power banks, loose lithium batteries, lighters and electronic smoking devices are not allowed in the cargo hold and will be removed from checked baggage. A removal notice will be left inside your suitcase, explaining which items were removed and why.

Items removed during security screening are directed for disposal, recycling or donation. Removed items are not stored and cannot be returned to the passenger.

If a prohibited item is found in your carry-on baggage at the security checkpoint, it may need to be surrendered for disposal. For this reason, we recommend checking your baggage carefully already at home.

Check the energy content of batteries

The energy content of a single battery must not exceed 100 Wh. If the energy content is between 100 and 160 Wh, you must request permission from the airline prior to travel. Even with permission, you may carry a maximum of two batteries.
