These popular meals at Helsinki Airport's restaurants provide enough fuel even for longer journeys. As it's autumn, a hot soup or a hearty steak is the perfect choice.

Restaurant Two Tigers (Gate 34, open from 10:30 am to 22 pm) offers steaming Korean-style ramen soup with grilled pork and kimchi, i.e. fermented cabbage. The soup is EUR 15.90.

Did you know that an early form of kimchi was made in the Korean peninsula as early as in the 600s? Chillies, ginger, and other spices give it heat and a red colour.

Ramen noodles have become a national icon in Japan, with every region boasting its own variation. There is even a dedicated ramen museum in Yokohama.

The airport's new landmark, Pier Zero restaurant

The airport's most recent architectural landmark, Pier Zero restaurant at Gate 29, is known for international flavours complemented by Nordic accents. It is open from 5 am to 22 pm.

Pier Zero offers a selection of lunch soups (EUR 13.50), and a genuine classic – creamy salmon soup – has turned out to be the most popular choice. The soup is served with bread that is freshly baked on site.

If you are after a more filling meal, Nordic Kitchen's (Gate 35, open 24 h) Iron Steak (EUR 25.90) is sure to do the trick. The thick steak is flavoured with rosemary and garlic, and served with roasted vegetables in a red wine sauce.

Have a good flight!
