This year, both sides of the Christmas aircraft are decorated with two giant (3.1 x 3.5 m) Lindt HELLO Santa motifs with their cool sun glasses.
The Flyer itself looks as if it had just had a mouthful of delicious chocolate of the renowned Swiss chocolatier!
– This Christmas again we want to bring people together and make their journey sweet and memorable, whether they are flying home for Christmas or to somewhere else, Tade Peters, Vice President Marketing Communications of airberlin says.
The first flight of the Christmas Flyer included a stop at Helsinki-Vantaa in the end of November. From now on, the aircraft stops at Helsinki-Vantaa, aptly named as the official Santa’s Gateway airport, every 2–3 days until the beginning of January.
The Christmas Flyer is a brand new Airbus A320 aircraft which was first carefully cleaned and polished. After that, a specialised team applied an aviation-certified and especially UV-resistant film with Santa motifs to both sides of the aircarft.
Lindt’s limited edition Christmas hearts are served in the Flyer’s Business Class. Altogether 1.2 million chocolate hearts were manufactured for this purpose only.
