Finavia has chosen as its new CFO and board member Niclas Köhler. Mr Köhler will take up the position on August.

Niclas Köhler has worked as a CFO in various healthcare and media companies. Köhler comes to Finavia from the social and health care company Pihlajalinna Oyj.

“I'm really happy to be able to welcome Niclas to Finavia. He has a wealth of varied experience, so he will be an invaluable reinforcement to our team. On the strength of Finavia’s improved profitability we have an exceptionally large investment programme underway, for which reason the company will take on debt within the next few years. Niclas’s area of expertise is key to Finavia’s future success,” says Finavia CEO Kari Savolainen.

“Air traffic and Finavia’s business operations are extremely significant for Finland. Success in the competitive international aviation sector allows for comprehensive flight connections to Finland relative to the size of the population, and even now has generated as many as 100,000 jobs in Finland. Whether Finavia can succeed in implementing its ambitious strategy will be decisive for whether Finland can remain a competitive airline hub in the future. It’s great to be starting at Finavia, and to have the opportunity to contribute to the operations of a company with such wide-ranging influence", says Finavia’s newly appointed chief financial officer Niclas Köhler.
