From Helsinki to the world – see a list of the new routes!

The largest airport in Finland is better connected to the world than ever before. Get to know the new routes of the autumn and spring below.

The largest expansion programme in the history is taking place at Helsinki Airport, preparing to serve 30 million annual passengers. While the passenger volumes are growing, also new routes are opened.

“In addition to new routes, we continuously negotiate of increasing the capacity in other ways; increasing number of scheduled flights and operating with bigger aircraft. This year we expect to clearly reach the milestone of 20 million annual passengers”, says Joni Sundelin, Executive director of Helsinki Airport and Airline sales & accounts.

Extensions and new routes already for the winter

Route capacity will already increase in October as Pobeda Airlines starts operating a daily route to Moscow 5 October. Less than a week from then, Flydubai starts a daily Helsinki-Dubai route on 11 October.

Norwegian opens a route to Gdansk on 29 October, and extends operation of the Las Palmas route to year-round. On 3 November two route openings by Norwegian are celebrated as routes to Tel Aviv and Agadir are opened.

Finnair opens new routes for the upcoming winter. Finnair flies to Lyon two times a week, beginning 11 December. Finnair extends its routes to Edinburgh and Alanya to year round, and continues operating the Malta and Antalya routes until 9 December.

New routes for the spring have already been announced. Finnair opens a route to Los Angeles, operated three times a week beginning 31 March, and a daily route to Hannover on 29 April.
