On 24 April 2025, Norwegian was celebrated at Helsinki Airport in recognition of its 15-year presence in Finland. Norwegian is Finland's second-largest airline, with a total of 23 direct flight connections from Helsinki Airport to various European destinations this summer.

"We want to congratulate Norwegian on its 15 years of operations in Finland. Norwegian has been a significant operator both at Helsinki Airport and in Finland’s airport network, in which connections will be further improved next winter. We are pleased with our strong cooperation with Norwegian and wish them continued success in the years to come," said Kimmo Mäki, Finavia’s CEO, in his remarks.

"We are grateful to our customers for the fantastic years we have had in Finland. During our time in the Finnish market, we have successfully introduced new routes between Finland and various international destinations, and we plan to continue on this positive path of development in the coming years. Today, we are launching a new route from Rovaniemi to Barcelona and, in the summer, from Helsinki to Malta and Bucharest," said Geir Karlsen, CEO of Norwegian.

In celebration of the milestone year, Norwegian will launch a new route from Barcelona to Rovaniemi. The new route will be opened for the winter season on 3 December 2025 and continue until mid-February, with flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Following the opening of the new route, Norwegian will operate four routes from Rovaniemi Airport; in addition to Barcelona, the airline flies from Rovaniemi to London, Munich and Helsinki.

Norwegian started operating flights from Helsinki Airport in 2010, with Stockholm and Oslo as the first destinations. The following year, the airline established a base at Helsinki Airport. Today, the base supports approximately 150 cabin crew members and about one hundred pilots.
