A new Pekka Heikkinen Airport Café, has opened at Kajaani Airport. The café is located in the airport’s departure hall and serves not only passengers but also visitors and staff working at the airport.

The bakery-confectionery Pekka Heikkinen, founded in Kajaani in 1913, has been serving customers for 112 years and is now operated by the fourth generation of the family.

“We are delighted that the service level at Kajaani Airport is improving and that passengers can enjoy the services of a high-quality café. It is especially great that the operator is a local company that incorporates local products into its offering,” says Joni Nojonen, Kajaani Airport Manager.

The airport café offers fresh pastries—both savory and sweet—filled sandwiches, coffee, tea, soft drinks, and light snacks. There are also takeaway products available, such as the famous wood-fired bread and other local specialties.

The café also serves as a pickup point for Pekka Heikkinen products, so souvenirs can be easily ordered in advance from the company’s online store (in Finnish)and collected at the airport.
