Appointment at Finavia: Mirka Turunen to become Airport Manager of Oulu Airport

B.Soc.Sc. Mirka Turunen will begin as the Airport Manager of Oulu Airport on 5 October 2026. Turunen will be in charge of managing the airport and cooperation with local stakeholders.

Oulu Airport is one of Finavia’s busiest airports in terms of passenger volumes, and it is important that it offers good operational possibilities for airlines and a good customer experience for passengers,” says Jonna Pietilä, Finavia's Regional Director of Northern Finland and Lapland Airports.

Before joining Finavia, Turunen has worked in various positions in organisations in the service and logistics industry. In addition, she served on the Board of Directors of Ranuan Seudun Matkailu Oy in 2021–2025.

Oulu Airport, which was completed in 1953, is the third busiest airport in Finavia’s airport network when measured by the number of passengers. In 2025, a total of 545,034 passengers travelled via Oulu Airport, 90 per cent of whom were passengers on domestic flights.
