“We warmly welcome Lufthansa’s new route to Rovaniemi Airport! Finnish Lapland attracts more German travellers year after year, which is reflected in the growing number of new direct flight connections from different parts of the country,” says Petri Vuori, Senior Vice President, Route Development at Finavia.
The inaugural flight of the new route will arrive in Rovaniemi on Friday, 4 December 2026. The route between Munich and Rovaniemi will operate twice a week, on Fridays and Sundays, until 26 March 2027.
The flight time from Munich to Finnish happiness and wintry Rovaniemi is approximately 3 hours and 20 minutes.
With the new route, the Lufthansa Group further strengthens its flight offering between Central Europe and Finnish Lapland. During the current winter season 2025–2026, the group’s airlines operate flights to Rovaniemi Airport from Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Hamburg in Germany, as well as from Vienna in Austria and Zurich in Switzerland.
