New summer route from Frankfurt to Savonlinna
Discover Airlines has announced that it will launch a scheduled service between Frankfurt and Savonlinna Airport in summer 2027. Flights will operate once a week, overnight between Saturday and Sunday, from 19 June to 29 August 2027.
"This is a significant international opening for the Savonlinna region. The direct connection from Frankfurt brings the Lake Saimaa area much closer to international visitors and creates an entirely new opportunity to grow year-round and international tourism. Through the Frankfurt hub, we are easily accessible from a wide range of markets," says Jaana Komi, CEO of Savonlinna Travel Ltd.
New winter route from Frankfurt to Kajaani for 2027–2028
According to Discover Airlines, the new service between Frankfurt and Kajaani will commence in December 2027. The direct route will operate on Fridays from 17 December 2027 to 24 March 2028.
"We are extremely pleased with this new development. A direct flight connection to Frankfurt is a major step in strengthening our region’s international accessibility. The nordic countries continue to attract travelers from Germany
