Arriving at Helsinki Airport
Helsinki Airport has one hall for baggage claim. After exiting the plane, check the nearest monitor to see which baggage belt your luggage is on.
If your baggage has not reached its destination or it has been damaged, you should immediately notify the service desk of your airline carrier. Contact your carrier in all matters concerning your baggage.

Changing planes at Helsinki Airport
When transferring, you can go directly from the arrival gate to the departure gate of your connecting flight. You may check the information of your departing flight here.
Domestic flights as well as flights to European Schengen countries are operated from gates 11–34. Long-haul and European non-Schengen flights are operated from gates 34–55 that you can reach after passport control. You can cross the border by using the automated passport machines. It makes your trip faster and easier.
If your flights are on separate tickets, make sure you reserve enough time for baggage claim, possibly moving to another terminal, as well as the check-in and the security control.
Passengers with connecting flights may also do their shopping and use the same services as all the other passengers.

Departing from Helsinki
There is one terminal at Helsinki Airport. All passengers depart from the Departures Hall on floor 2. The security control and check-in areas are also located in the Departures Hall.
Please follow the check-in time provided by your carrier or travel organizer. Especially during the busiest times, it is good to plan ahead and come to Helsinki Airport in good time before your departure. You may encounter congestion at Helsinki Airport if your flight departs
- In the morning between 6 am and 8.30 am
- In the afternoon between 2 pm and 5.30 pm
- In the beginning of summer, Christmas and Easter holidays or during school autumn and winter breaks
