The number of passengers is exceptionally high on Friday, June 10 between 2 and 6 pm. During tomorrow’s peak hours Helsinki Airport will see the highest number of passengers in its history. The number of passengers exceeds the busiest hours of 2019 which was a record year at Helsinki Airport.

On Friday, June 10, Terminal 1 security control is open between 3 and 10.45 am. We ask passengers of Norwegian, Lufthansa and SAS flights to use Terminal 2 security control after check-in and baggage drop in Terminal 1.

If you have baggage that needs to be checked-in, please reserve plenty of time for check-in and bag drop.

If you travel with hand luggage, please do the check-in in advance, if possible. If you don’t need to check-in and use bag drop at the airport, you can continue directly to security control after arriving at the airport.

The security control will also be crowded so please reserve time even if you are travelling without luggage.

We will do our best to ensure smooth travelling. However, it is very important that you arrive at the airport early to catch your flight. Holiday season will continue the whole of June and especially during weekends, the airport will be very busy.
