You can easily get to Helsinki Airport by train, bus, taxi or your own car. The airport has good transport links to the Helsinki Metropolitan Area and the rest of Finland. There is also a covered bike parking area at the airport.

Helsinki Airport is located 20 kilometres from Helsinki city centre. The journey can be completed in about half an hour by train or car. A bus journey to the airport takes about 40–50 minutes. You can access train, bus, and taxi stations, rental cars, a bike parking area and modern parking facilities from the airport’s arrivals hall.

  1. Train

The train station is located directly below the terminal. The arrivals and departures halls are directly connected to the train station by a lift and escalators. P and I trains operate between the airport and Helsinki city centre. The train journey takes about 30 min. You can buy tickets using the HSL mobile app or buy them at the airport from the ticket machine in the platform area. You can find the timetables and prices on the HSL website.

  1. Bus

The bus station is located in front of the terminal on the arrivals level. HSL’s trunk bus route 600 operates between the airport and Helsinki city centre. The bus journey takes about 40 min. You can buy tickets using the HSL mobile app or buy them at the airport from the ticket machine in the platform area. You can find more information on the HSL website.

The airport is served by several long-distance buses from, for example, Turku, Tampere and Lahti. You can find the timetables and prices on the Matkahuolto website.

  1. Parking

Helsinki Airport has four parking halls and an outdoor parking area in front of the terminal. The P1 Premium and P2 parking halls have a lift connection to the arrivals hall. See the parking areas nearest to your gate, charging points for electric cars and short-term parking areas, as well as additional information about parking with a parking card for people with reduced mobility.

In addition, there are several car rental companies at Helsinki Airport, whose service desks can be found in the arrivals hall in front of the parking information desk.

  1. Taxi

Taxis drop off departing passengers directly in front of the main entrance of the terminal, which is the entrance to the check-in. Passengers leaving the airport are served by a taxi station located on the arrivals level. Taxis are available around the clock. The taxi station has four lanes, from which the passenger can choose a taxi that suits them.

  1. Picking up and dropping off passengers

You can drive passengers to the airport’s main entrance on the departures level. You can stop in front of the terminal, but parking in front of the main entrance is not allowed. If you’d like to accompany a passenger inside the terminal, you can drive to the short-term parking area in front of the arrivals hall.

When picking up passengers at the airport, drive to the short-term parking area in front of the arrivals hall. You can also use the P1 and P2 parking halls.

  1. Bike parking area

The airport bike parking area is located in front of the terminal, next to the bus station. The bike parking area is free and covered. Bikes can be locked by the frame to a sturdy rack, of which the area has dozens. The bike parking area is monitored, but you store your property in the area at your own risk. E-bike charging is not possible in the parking area.
